    Application

    Cesium bromide was used as precursor to synthesize lead cesium bromide nanoparticles by ultrasonic bath.

    Cesium bromide can be used as a raw material for the manufacture of EU2+ nanocrystals for white LED, can also be used as an additive for the preparation of CSI-based scintillator, improve the yield limit and microhardness of CsI, and can also be used for the preparation of thermal neutron imaging plates.

    Cesium bromide makes inorganic perovskite materials for solar cells, such as (CsPbBr3). It can also be used as raw materials for making detergent.

    Basic information

    Caesium bromide or cesium bromide is an ionic compound of caesium and bromine with the chemical formula CsBr. It is a white or transparent solid with melting point at 636 °C that readily dissolves in water. Its bulk crystals have the cubic CsCl structure, but the structure changes to the rocksalt type in nanometer-thin film grown on mica, LiF, KBr or NaCl substrates.
