Application
Bismuth trioxide is usually used in chemical reagents, bismuth salt manufacturing, glass coloring, varistor, thermistor, arrester, picture tube, fireproof paper, nuclear reactor fuel, electronic ceramic powder materials, photoelectric materials, high temperature superconducting materials and catalysts.
Other usages of Bismuth trioxide are non toxic fireworks, fireproof, kinescope, ceramic fiber paper,ferrite magnetic material, color film, etc.
It can be a a reducing agent for the production of uranium and other metals from their salts.
As an additive agent in conventional propellants and the production of nodular graphite in cast iron.
And Bismuth trioxide can be a sacrificial (galvanic) anode to protect underground tanks, pipelines, buried structures, and water heaters.
